Case Record Access & Restrictions
Nebraska's Public Records Act supports inspection of nonexempt public records, while court rules and other laws protect certain material. Sealed cases do not appear through ordinary JUSTICE public access. Juvenile records, victim-sensitive facts, personal identifiers, and law-enforcement-sensitive material may also be withheld or redacted. Records removed under a court retention law or rule can be unavailable even though the event once had a public file.
